LEGO Braille Bricks: Fostering Inclusion Through Play

A New Chapter in LEGO’s Story

Exciting news for LEGO enthusiasts! The company has launched an innovative product, LEGO Braille Bricks, for the first time on the LEGO Store! This move is a landmark in providing more inclusive play experiences.

LEGO Braille Bricks: Bridging the Gap!

This new product is designed to make learning Braille fun and accessible. It’s now available for purchase in some country! This set includes bricks with both Braille and printed letters, numbers, and symbols. It’s designed for kids aged 6+ and anyone curious about Braille.

The bricks come in five colors: white, yellow, green, red, and blue. Additionally, each brick’s studs correspond to the numbers and letters of the Braille system, with the printed version located beneath the studs. Moreover, the set includes two baseplates, and the packaging is adorned with Braille embossing.

To support pre-Braille skill development, LEGO offers play starters. These activities teach players how to orient, attach, and stack bricks while playing well-known games like Rock, Paper, Scissors.

LEGO Braille Bricks were previously only distributed to organizations specializing in educating vision-impaired children. The positive feedback from these educational kits led to the creation of ‘LEGO Braille Bricks – Play with Braille’ for home use.

LEGO Braille Bricks: A Tool for Inclusion!

Martine Abel-Williamson, President of the World Blind Union, believes this initiative is a significant step towards promoting Braille learning. “For the blind community, Braille is not just literacy, it’s our entry to independence and inclusion into this world” she commented.
